To help Strictly Rhythm celebrate their monumental 25 year anniversary, we worked with our upstairs neighbours, Defected Records, to ‘rebuild’ the iconic house music label’s logo, coinciding with the release of DJ T’s remix album, 25 Years of Strictly Rhythm.
Brief
Given just the logo to work with, we worked to produce a few creative three dimensional solutions for Defected before, ultimately, deciding on the one we went with.
SOLUTION
Using Materialize Magics and 3DPrint design software, the logo was turned into a three dimensional model suitable for printing. Strictly Rhythm were on hand to film the process in its entirety – from design, to printing, to post processing – resulting in the video below.
RESULTS
The final piece was printed on the 3D Systems ProJet 660plus in full colour in two hours and can be viewed in the video below.
Discussing the Strictly Rhythm anniversary, Defected Records said the following:
“Celebrating a landmark anniversary for arguably the most influential house music label of all time, ‘Strictly DJ T.: 25 Years of Strictly Rhythm’ is a new mix album celebrating the rich musical history of the legendary imprint. Mixed by Get Physical founder and long-term Strictly fan DJ T., this compilation includes tracks from seminal Strictly artists including Logic, Aly-Us, DJ Pierre, Hardrive, DJ Sneak, Wink and many more, with a brand new edit of each track provided by DJ T. himself, whose love affair with Strictly Rhythm began in 1990.”
The album can be found on iTunes
A huge thanks to Stephan Knight for filming the process and editing into the amazing video you saw above.
