Case Study:

Projection Mapping and Augmented Reality for Landor

Tagged:

The Brief

Global brand consulting firm, Landor, required two centrepiece exhibition stands that presented the process of copper extraction for the Russian Copper Company. They needed to be visually arresting and lucidly informative.

Our Solution

A highly stylised 5 x 2 metre model of a copper mine was built which acted as a canvas for overhead projection mapped visuals.

Thirteen markers placed around the model triggered various educational 3D animations that appeared to be anchored to the model when viewed through an iPad. The augmented reality app showed visitors the individual steps of the mining process.

For the second deployment another model was created and recessed into a wall. Inition attached nine interactive touchscreens showing bespoke video content relating to different elements of copper production.

Each area of the mine was linked to a DMX controller which colour matched RGB LEDS to the client’s branding.

The Results

The success of the first stand resulted in the commissioning of a second with both being visited by members of the Russian government.
