Inition's Andy Millns and Robert Jeffries were invited by the British Council to consult on a new initiative in Chiang Mai called "Chiang Mai Digital Crafts". The initiative is design to help the key creative industries in Chiang Mai, particularly tourism and crafts, to improve their competitiveness by integrating creativity, technology and local wisdom, whilst also focussing on commercialisation/economic benefits.

The project also encourages the collaboration between Thailand and the United Kingdom by exchanging knowledge, best practice, expertise and technology in the field of creative economies. Andy and Robert spent 3 days with the Digital Crafts team at CAMT and led workshops on a number of key technologies of interest to the project including 3D scanning, augmented reality and 3D display technologies.
